HAMM PLANT

WDI's main plant was founded in 1856 at its current location in Hamm. WDI produces high quality wire, bright steel, construction steel and high performance wire ropes at 15 locations and with around 1,300 employees. The largest locations are Hamm in Westphalia and Rothenburg an der Saale in Saxony-Anhalt.
Today, Westfälische Drahtindustrie GmbH, based in Hamm, is the largest independent wire producer in Europe.

ROTHENBURG / SAALE PLANT

The WDI plant in Rothenburg an der Saale is an important and efficient wire and rope manufacturer. The number of applications and uses for our products, which are sold worldwide, is somewhere in the region of 16,000.

BROTTERODE PLANT

Westfälische Drahtindustrie produces cold rolled flat and shaped wires in coils and bars at its Brotterode site.
Our products can be found in the offshore, construction, electrical and automotive industries, among others.

SALZGITTER PLANT

Using highly efficient plant technology, we produce cold-ribbed reinforcing steel (CR) in rings and coils as well as structural steel mesh at our Salzgitter site. Thanks to the special wire rod primary material for our CR products, our reinforcing wire achieves first-class technical values.

BERLIN PLANT

At our Berlin site, we produce overhead and underground conductors in various designs and constructions for the construction of new lines, the repair of existing transmission grids, the connection of transformer substations, solar and wind power plants.

BRANDENBURG a.d.H. PLANT

We produce manufacturing and reinforcing wire at our site in Brandenburg. Our plant is located about 70 km west of Berlin with a good infrastructure and good transport links to the A2 and A10 motorways.

ZWEIBRÜCKEN / IXHEIM PLANT

The WDI Blankstahl Zweibrücken plant is one of the largest bright steel manufacturers in Europe. The Zweibrücken site produces free-cutting and tool steels for the automotive, hydraulics and mechanical engineering industries, among others.
